What to Ask a Provider

First-timers often do not know what to ask. Here is a short list.

• Are you licensed and insured in my state?
• Will you put the quote in writing?
• What does the quote include? Think materials, labor and cleanup.
• How long will the job take?
• What brand and type of window or siding do you suggest, and why?
• Do you offer a warranty on your work? Get it in writing.
• Can you share photos of past jobs?

For windows, ask about energy efficient windows. These can help keep heat in during cold months. For siding, ask how vinyl siding compares with other types for your home.

Know Your Home
